John 9:4 “We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.”
Organizing and simplifying life refers to techniques designed to enable people to get more done in less time with better results. People do not realize how much time they waste until they examine the time used.
The key to organizing your time wisely is learning how to allocate time effectively to your most important tasks of the day. Efficiency is doing the job right. Effectiveness is doing the right job.
Proverbs 21:5 “The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.”
The word of God reminds us over and over that we are to live disciplined lives. He does not reward laziness, however, he does expect the believers to be diligent of plans for the day.
Monitor your use of time
This is the first step of simplifying your time wisely. This requires a daily diary schedule log that tracks your activities and enables you to determine how your time is being used. What is the most important task of the day? At the end of the week, analyze your activities and how you used your time. This will help you stay abreast of what’s going on in your life and draw conclusions on how much time you are spending on important tasks and identify areas of wasted time.
A priority is the preference given to one activity over other activities. Most of us prioritize badly. Prioritize your goals; your tasks. Identify what you want to get done. Prioritize your activities and complete the tasks to accomplish your objectives. Stay on course; tasks that must get done should be placed on the to-do-list and then prioritized.
Set Quality Time
The best laid-plans made can still be interrupted. Interruptions can happen at any time. Plan a prime time every day. Announce to your family and friends that you are blocking off a certain time for your “quiet time” and stick with it. Block off television, phone calls, and internet. This is your quality time with God.
